George Pollard - Exit Strategist (email at )

George enjoys the beautiful state of Utah! He enjoys bike riding, hiking, skiing, camping, and fishing.  He has been married for 43 years to his wife (and business partner) Dian. Together, they have owned and operated 4 businesses.

At the age of 28, George and his wife Dian decided to stop working for others and start their own business. It all began while pursuing a hobby in plaster craft that they had enjoyed while living in California. The business grew rapidly and soon George was able to quit his job and become his own full-time boss. The business became a huge success when they made the decision to move it from the basement of their home to a storefront. Soon the business had two locations and became the largest wholesale, manufacturing, and retail outlet for the hobby they had enjoyed so much.

Over the course of time, the popularity for plaster craft changed and George felt he had to supplement his income. That is when he made the decision to purchase a lawn-spraying business through a broker listing.  This business came with a fair customer base which quickly grew over the next 3 years. He then purchased a hydro-seeding company from another broker to complement the lawn-spray business. During this time, George and Dian decided to sell their plaster craft business. Shortly after, they purchased an electroplating company which George owned and operated until they decided to sell both it and the lawn business.

After over 30 years of self-employment George is now actively helping other first-time business owners find their dream. He himself comes from a background of self-employment. While growing up, he watched his father own and operate several businesses. He has learned a lot through his experiences as a child watching his father, as well as owning businesses of his own. He has now had the opportunity to encourage and advise others who have started their own companies and he continues to find an excitement for those who are interested in business ownership. He also feels a strong importance for those who have owned, operated, fed and nourished their own “baby”. He encourages those who have cared for their business for years, to think about “adopting” it out in order to bless someone else who is looking for an opportunity to grow their own business and continue to build upon the foundation that they have laid.
